Privacy Notice

Who we are

Pivot is the public-facing brand of Pivot Holdings International, a 501(c)(3) private foundation registered in Connecticut, USA. We build programs and a platform that support entrepreneurs at every stage — from first-time founders starting over to established operators scaling a business.

Our official entity is Pivot Holdings International. You may also see references to Pivot, Pivot International, or PHI — these all refer to the same organization.

What this notice covers

This Privacy Notice explains what information we collect when you visit pivotintl.org or interact with Pivot, how we use it, and what rights you have. It applies to visitors to our website, people who contact us, champion and partner applicants, mailing list subscribers, and donors.

Information we collect

When you visit the site. Standard web server logs including IP address, browser type, pages visited, time of visit, and referring URL. We use this information for site analytics, security monitoring, and performance improvement.

When you subscribe to our mailing list. Your name and email address. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any Pivot email.

When you apply to be a champion or partner. The information you provide in the application, which may include your name, email, location, professional background (such as a LinkedIn URL or resume), relevant experience, availability, and your answers to application questions. We use this information to evaluate your application and, if approved, to onboard you.

When you donate. Donations to Pivot are processed through GiveButter, our payment processor. Payment details (credit card numbers, bank information) are collected and held by GiveButter — not by Pivot. We receive your name, email, donation amount, and any message you include with the donation. See GiveButter’s privacy policy for how they handle payment data.

When you contact us. Any information you provide in your message, including your name, email address, and the content of your communication.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Operate and improve pivotintl.org
  • Respond to inquiries and applications
  • Evaluate champion and partner candidates
  • Process and acknowledge donations, including sending tax receipts
  • Send you the Pivot newsletter if you have subscribed
  • Communicate updates about programs you have applied to or joined
  • Comply with legal and financial reporting obligations, including IRS Form 990 reporting

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Who we share your information with

We share limited information with service providers who help us operate Pivot. These include:

  • GiveButter, for donation processing
  • Mailchimp, for newsletter delivery
  • Our website host and analytics provider, for site operation
  • Professional advisors (accountants, auditors, legal counsel) as needed

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights or safety of Pivot, our participants, or the public, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or transfer of assets of Pivot Holdings International.

Cookies and tracking

Pivot uses cookies to remember your preferences and to support basic site analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some site features may not work as expected. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information:

  • Access. You can ask what information we hold about you.
  • Correction. You can ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Deletion. You can ask us to delete your information, subject to our legal obligations to retain donor and financial records.
  • Opt-out. You can unsubscribe from our mailing list at any time.
  • California residents. The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants additional rights, including the right to know what categories of personal information we collect. Pivot does not sell personal information.
  • EU and UK residents. Under the GDPR and UK GDPR, you have additional rights regarding data portability and processing restrictions.

Children’s privacy

Pivot’s programs and website are intended for adults (18 and older). We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact support [at] pivotintl [dot] org and we will delete it.

Data security

We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be announced on our website and, where appropriate, communicated directly to affected individuals.

Acceptance

By using pivotintl.org, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Who we are

Pivot Holdings International (“Pivot,” “we,” “us”) is a 501(c)(3) private foundation registered in Connecticut, USA. Pivot operates pivotintl.org and the programs described on it.

Use of the site

You may use pivotintl.org for lawful purposes related to learning about Pivot, applying to be a champion or partner, subscribing to communications, and making donations. You agree not to:

  • Use the site in violation of any law
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the site or its systems
  • Interfere with site operation or security
  • Scrape, harvest, or copy site content for commercial purposes without our written permission
  • Impersonate any person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organization

Intellectual property

All content on pivotintl.org — text, graphics, logos, program names, curriculum, and design — is owned by Pivot Holdings International or used with permission, and is protected by copyright and trademark law.

“Pivot,” “Pivot International,” “Pivot Holdings International,” “LaunchPad,” “Second Chance,” “PivotConnect,” “Pivot Launch,” “Pivot Connect,” “Pivot Money,” “Pivot Biz,” and “Pivot Life” are common-law marks of Pivot Holdings International.

You may view and share site content for personal, non-commercial purposes with attribution, but you may not reproduce, modify, or distribute it without our written permission.

User submissions

If you submit an application, a message, or any other content to Pivot (together, “Submissions”), you grant Pivot a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use the Submission for the purpose of operating and communicating about Pivot’s programs. You are responsible for the accuracy and legality of what you submit, and you represent that you have the right to submit it.

Not financial, legal, or medical advice

Content on pivotintl.org is for general educational and informational purposes only. It is not financial, legal, tax, medical, or professional advice. You should consult qualified professionals before acting on anything you read on this site.

Donations

Donations to Pivot Holdings International are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by US law. Donations are processed by GiveButter. Donations are generally non-refundable, though we will consider refund requests for processing errors or duplicate transactions made within 30 days of the donation.
